Ongoing Asset Management

You Make the Choice – Not Us

Many advisors really, really want to manage client assets. It can provide a steady and recurring source of income. In fact, some advisors won’t work with a client unless allowed to manage assets, while others attempt to aggressively upsell the service to anyone walking in the door.

We do none of that.

We don’t require clients to allow us to manage their assets, nor do we aggressively upsell the service. If a client is interested in ongoing asset management, we will respectfully discuss our process – the pros, the cons and the costs – in a pressure-free environment.

Why Have an Advisor Manage Your Portfolio?

Many people enjoy managing their own assets. They like monitoring the markets, doing the research, making the investment decisions and assessing the results.

Others choose to have a qualified advisor manage their assets, usually for one or more of the following reasons:

  • They don’t have the time to do it
  • They are overwhelmed by the process and the number of choices available
  • They have a specific need, usually tax-related (for example, a large portfolio that needs to be managed in a tax-efficient manner)
  • They don’t feel capable of making good investment choices
  • They just don’t want to do it

Whatever the reason, if ongoing asset management is the right choice for you, we can help.

For clients who ask us to manage their assets, we’ll design a customized portfolio that reflects their long-term goals, minimizes tax consequences and honors their tolerance for risk. What we won’t do is chase fads, swing for the fences or trade on a daily basis.

In our opinion, when it comes to investing, less is more.
